In Loving Memory of Robert C. Greenlease, Sr...

Robert C. Greenlease, Sr.
This page is Dedicated to the Memory of Robert C. Greenlease, Sr., who was a true American pioneer and a titan in the growth and expansion of the Cadillac Automobile nationwide for over 60 years. Robert was the first individual to franchise the Cadillac Automobile West of the Mississippi River. He expanded and marketed the Cadillac first in Kansas City, Missouri and all points throughout the Midwest, West, North and South, long before this luxury automobile was a part of the General Motors Corporation. Cadillac continues as the premiere American luxury automobile and has been custom built for more Presidents and professional automobiles than any car in existence. The Greenlease name emblem tagged on the back of every trunk panel "by Greenlease" will rightfully forever be synonymous with the Cadillac Automobile. Truly, two enduring American icons! (Earlier in this site, complete information is shown relating to Robert C. Greenlease and his pioneering relationship with the Cadillac Automobile and General Motors). An interesting note: Walt Disney and his older brother Raymond A. Disney and Charles W. Fisher purchased numerous Cadillac Automobiles from Robert C. Greenlease, Sr. many years earlier.

Charles W. Fisher
Charles William Fisher, a Kansas City, Missouri businessman and investor, and his wife Alvah M. Fisher were longtime close friends to Robert and Virginia Greenlease. Both Charles and Alvah assisted "behind the scenes" with Robert and Virginia to help stabilize the family throughout the entire Greenlease kidnapping tragedy. Charles assisted Robert and Virginia as they arranged for Bobby's family visitation, funeral, and Rosary and Holy Mass that was entrusted to the Stine & McClure Mortuary and St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Roeland Park, Kansas. Charles and Alvah's friendships were of immeasurable comfort to the Greenlease Family across so many years. Charles W. Fisher was a Past Illustrious Potentate (1952) of Ararat Shrine Temple and served on the City Council of Kansas City, Missouri (1959-1963). Charles and Robert enjoyed their close friendships and shared mutual interests as avid fishermen and as active members in the Masonic Orders, the International Order of DeMolay, and of the Ararat Shrine Temple in Kansas City, Missouri, the Shriner's Hospitals for Children in St. Louis and nationwide, and in the Royal Order of Jesters, Court 54, where they met for lunch at noon every Friday in downtown Kansas City at the President Hotel for over 30 years.
alvah M. fisher was a close LONGTIME friend to the greenlease family...

Alvah Meredith Fisher was a longtime close personal friend to Robert and Virginia Greenlease and to their children Virginia Sue and Robert, Jr. known as "Bobby." She had taught elementary school and she was also an active mother and entrepreneur. Alvah was actively involved with her husband Charles in various Ararat Shrine activities as Charles served as the Illustrious Potentate of Ararat Shrine Temple in Kansas City, MO in 1952. Alvah and Virginia were both also quite involved with various charities and philanthropy. Throughout the immediate days and events of Bobby's tragic kidnapping in 1953, and for many years following, Alvah was very close to Virginia and the two remained friends for the remainder of each one of their lives. Virginia said of her friend Alvah: "I could never have endured the tragic loss of Bobby had it not been for my strong Roman Catholic Faith, my dear family, and for my very close and dear friend Alvah Fisher, and of course, many others! Alvah understood the sadness and deep loss my family was experiencing and she was a friend who loved and assisted my entire family for so many years!"

Antoine de La Mothe Cadillac
Antoine de La Mothe Cadillac. The French Military Commander who founded the City of Detroit in 1701. His Cadillac Auto Company was then the oldest U. S. auto maker. What better name for the oldest automobile manufacturer in Detroit? Robert C. Greenlease became the first Cadillac Dealer West of the Mississipi and as a result, the Cadillac brand expanded far beyond anyone's expectations! Robert even expanded the Cadillac Automobile into many other states! Notably, this was before Cadillac was a part of the developing General Motors!
